About

“With proud cultural roots embedded in a small town of Intipuca, we aim to bring a piece of Salvadorian flavor to Gainesville, GA with grandma’s delicious recipes. In 2020, mother-daughter duo Marta Zelaya and Sandra Araujo started El Salvador Bakery y Pupuseria amist the COVID pandemic unknowingly approaching. With much prayers and persistence we have been able to stay open and serve our community to this day. We take pride in our authentic recipes from the pupusas to the soups, to the bread we make in house.

Today, Marta’s first grandson and Sandra’s son, Ronald Jr, runs the business along side his wife, Stephanie. We aspire to keep the business feeling like a second home and a sanctuary for those that need a little reminder of their homeland. Our first priority is great customer service which is why you’ll always be greeted with a smile by a familiar face."

Our history

When it became clear that there was going to be continued interest in the eating experience we’d curated, we found a permanent location, expanded our menu, and began regular service. That was 5 years ago, and we’re still going strong today.
Though we’ve come a long way from where we started (we’re up to 12 chefs and 10 servers on a normal evening), our focus has ever shifted. When you eat with us, you can expect to find new flavors, existing foods, and a sparkling evening.
